Я не могу воспроизвести вашу ошибку. Я внес изменения в параметризацию вашего выходного файла, потому что у меня нет вашего /home/st... как уже отмечалось:

Чтобы настроить файл, просто поменяйте местами 2 назначения OUT.

Тот же алгоритм может быть реализован в bash, но (IMO )его намного сложнее читать и понимать, а с переменными массива bash сложно работать из-за того, что их нужно заключать в кавычки. И он будет работать намного медленнее:

Обратите внимание, :для этого требуется bash версии 4.3 или новее, чтобы -vоператор проверки мог проверить, существует ли переменная.
